What's more quintessentially Canadian than a pond hockey tournament? If you think of anything let me know.

For now, I will assume that playing pond hockey IS one of the most Canadian things you could do this weekend.

That's right, YOU have an opportunity to play some pond hockey this weekend as the Rotary Pond Hockey Championships will be held on Crescent Lake!

This takes place Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday, a full weekend of fun on the lake! Could it get any better? Actually, it could, and it did! Along with pond hockey, they have a Milk Jug Curling Funspiel happening this year!

The team requirments and entry fees are as follows;

Pond Hockey:
-Teams of 5-7 people, Aged 15+
-$200 per team

Milk Jug Curling Funspiel:
-Teams of 2 people
-$50 per team

Along with some fun on the ice, there'll be some music happening inside!

Troy Flamand, one of Portages up and coming country music sensations, will be performing with a new group he's put together called "Home Grown" on Friday for tournament go-ers.

He said it was nice to take a break from the high energy live performances, and to bring a nice relaxing vibe to to table.

He outlines some of the different stylings that will be hilighted throughout the evening.

The music starts at 7:30 at Stride Place, check it out!
