The Portage Cobras were victorious last night.

They won 3-1 as they took down North Winnipeg United. Member of the team Nick Plourde says he was very pleased with how the team played.

"We moved the ball together," says Plourde. "We were up two goals, I got one and I think Sean got the second. When you're up two goals they start to be down on themselves and have fewer opportunities."

He also adds that the Cobras have made it a point to score early.

"You get more goals you win games right," says Plourde. "We were losing one-goal games and now we get more guys out to practices now that school and university are over. We can actually practice moving the ball eight guys up instead of three on two."

The Cobras defence has kept them in games this year, but if their offence keeps rolling they will be tough to stop.

Portage returns to the field Wednesday, June 26th to take on Stonewall United.
