While Slash may not be playing in the Guns and Houses charity game, a few stick infractions will surely be seen.

Officers from the Portage la Prairie RCMP and FireFighters from the Portage Fire Hall will line up against each other under the bright lights of Stride Place to raise some money for the Family Resource Centre Outreach Centre.

"We're very confident. I'm sure they're confident as well. It'll be a good, friendly rivalry," says Central Plains RCMP Inspector Paul Peddle. "It's something myself and Fire Chief Brad Bailey have had in the works for a while."

Peddle adds that it will be an excellent way for the two sides to bond.

"We're confident that we have a strong team where we play quite a bit together at different tournaments," states Peddle  with a confident grin.

Portage Fire Chief Brad Bailey says his team is looking forward to welcoming the RCMP to the Jungle, the ice surface.

"It should be a great match against the RCMP. Luckily, this year we have a few new recruits in our fire hall and some young legs, so we're hoping to give them a run for their money."

The game will occur at 6 p.m. on Sunday at Stride Place, with a $5 admission fee going toward the Family Resource Centre Outreach Centre.
