A Portage la Prairie man is facing many charges after breaking curfew.

On August 24th, an RCMP General Investigative Service officer was on patrol when he noticed a man driving a vehicle who was to be on an absolute curfew. The officer tried to pull them over, but the man sped away. Rather than start a chase, the officer was able to find the suspect vehicle a short time later and find the suspect hiding nearby.

A 36-year-old was arrested without incident and is charged with:
Fail to Comply with a Release Order
Flight From Police

The man then provided breath samples on a Road Side Screening Device in which the results were a Warning. He received an immediate fifteen-day Driving Prohibition, the vehicle was towed, impounded for three days, and he was fined $500.He had a court appearance the following day.
