Due to public demand, a faith-based movie entitled, I can Only Imagine, is being brought to Portage la Prairie's theatre starting tomorrow night, just in time for Good Friday and the Christian weekend of celebration. Prairie City Cinema owner David Mulaire says some Portagers approached him about the movie.

David Mulaire and his son Kelson"The movie is called I Can Only Imagine," says Mulaire. "The way it was being released wasn't so wide. So, I just chose to go with the sure-fire thing. Now that I've been awakened to the attention it's drawing, now I see there's a need for it here in Portage,"

He notes some Portage residents saw the film in Winnipeg and infomred him of how much of a hit it's been since its release. They requested it be brought to our city.  Mulaire says he's open to bringing in films that the public wants to see. Being the only theatre in town, he's interested in the public's opinion. Mulaire adds, in the past it wasn't something the theatre considered. He says some are also requesting Bollywood movies, and other faith-based films as well as special-interest movies.
