The RM of Rockwood received some thrilling news from the province to the tune of about $250,000.

"We actually had a funding announcement from our PC government regarding some infrastructure funding we're receiving, which is pretty big news," says Reeve Jim Campbell. "We made applications for a number of projects and we got approved on, I believe, all of them."

He says the money's going toward work the RM planned to do anyway, including road building and a significant amount of paving in Stony Mountain. Campbell adds they'll be able to get more accomplished than originally planned, and yet remain on budget.

Campbell says many of the projects are already completed. He notes the RM's extremely appreciative of the approval, and are trying to do the best they can without putting an extra burden on the ratepayers.
