Roquette was quite pleased to be recognized by the Career Directory as one of Canada's Best Employers for recent college and university graduates.

That's from Jim Bozikis, Head of Communications and Public Affairs for the Americas.

"As you know, we're recruiting for our pea protein plant that we're building in Portage now," says Bozikis. "One of the reasons that we decided to build in this location is because of the talents of the workforce. So, seeing this kind of recognition really is a feather in our cap."

"This designation gives us an advantage as we look to hire the best talent in Canada for the new state-of-the-art plant we are building," says Dominique Baumann, Roquette Canada Managing Director. "The plant is scheduled to begin operation by the end of 2020, but our team has already been hard at work recruiting the talent needed to complete the project, install the equipment and -- the time comes -- ensure that everything is ready to operate properly," Baumann added.

"Putting the 'best employers for recent graduates' logo next to the Roquette name is a tremendous honour for us," said Anu Baldner, Human Resources Director -- Canada. "It's wonderful to see our HR policies, programs and organizational culture acknowledged by this third party organization."

Bozikis says the workforce and people who would be recruited is one of the reasons they selected Portage, so they could recruit, build, and get their plant going and keep it going.

"Obviously, we're going to be hiring this year and next year, as we get closer and closer to our plant being operational at the end of 2020," adds Bozikis. "Certainly, to be able to have this designation will, I hope, make us even more attractive to recent graduates who might be looking for a place to begin a career."
