The Rotary Club of Portage la Prairie will need one more chair for their meetings.

Joe Masi was inducted during the March 28th meeting, and he says this was a long time coming. He mentions that he wanted to join the club years ago, but, due to his job, he was unable to commit the time needed to be a member.

"It's a great organization," explains Masi. "They are, by far, the service club that does the most for our community and I want to be part of that."

Before becoming a member, Masi attended Rotary meetings for the past few months as a guest. He says this was just to truly understand what the club is like before committing to being a member.

Masi adds, since he knew a number of members before joining the club, he knew that it would be a welcoming place to be.

"There's lots to do in our community and Rotary is always one of the leaders in raising money, donating to projects, and helping out," notes Masi. "I don't have any specific projects in mind, but whatever Rotary takes on, I want to be a part of it."

With spring here, the club will be looking ahead to warmer days so they can begin their fourth, and final, phase of the Rotary Duck Pond Rejuvenation Project.
