A new statistical data program was created in 2018 for the Salvation Army across Canada to better serve its food bank operations. Their system hasn't been updated for the last 20 years, and has been a long time coming. Here's Portage la Prairie's Salvation Army Major Brenda Hammond.

"We definitely want to finish implementing this new program, and we'd like to move toward some kind of gathering for people to help them learn better skills, stretching your dollar and budget," says Hammond.

She adds she's glad she's now into her second year, making things far more easy for her, and the food bank's in a better place than it was last year. Hammond adds she feels they're moving in the right direction and will keep moving that way.
