Kids lined up with their families to get their pictures taken with a jolly fellow, and proceeds are going to a good cause.

Natasha Ralph used her great talents with kids and coordinated the photography.

"We are taking pictures with Santa who's come to visit with us and he wants to help out a project happening here in Portage la Prairie, the Portage Junkyard Dogs activity park," says Ralph. "Everything that we're doing today is in aid of that as well as the food bank."

She notes the event was held Tuesday evening and Monday afternoon.

"We've had a great turnout," continues Ralph. "It's really nice to see everybody coming out. Santa's having a great time. Kids are having a great time. It's been wonderful."

Ralph adds Monday saw them bring in about $250. Tuesday brought in more, altogether totalling $1,160 along with many non-perishable food items for the Salvation Army food bank.

"Thank you to the community for coming out and supporting this event and we do plan to do this annually," notes Ralph. "Every year, we'll choose a different charity, and me and Santa, we're already locked in. We got a go!"
