The Portage Terriers are back in the win column after tonight's victory over the Neepawa Titans. The Dogs were victorious 6-1 in a game where all seven goals were scored on special teams.

The Terriers made sure to start this game off strong as Daniel Siso found the back of the net within the first five minutes and gave Portage the 1-0 lead.

Hayden Lacquette put home his first goal as a Terrier seven minutes into the game and just two minutes later, Siso scored again. This put the Terriers up 3-0 less than halfway through the first, with all three goals coming on the power-play.

In the dying seconds of the period, the Dogs’ continued to take advantage on special teams but this time they were down a man. Austin McLean and Matt Wisened picked up their second assists of the game on a short-handed goal from Daron Cyr. Portage held a commanding 4-0 lead after one.

Gladstone, Manitoba product Cameron Trimble was able to get Neepawa on the board early in the second period but Brandon McCartney answered for the Terriers minutes later to make it 5-1. Both of those goals came on the power-play as well.

Mason Smith added an unassisted marker late in the third to seal the deal and make the final score 6-1 Portage. The Terriers will be back in action next weekend as they have a pair of games with the top-ranked Steinbach Pistons.
