After a tough 3-0 loss in their National Junior A Championship opener, the Terriers return to action today, in search of their first win.

The Dogs offence was held in check by the Ottawa Jr Senators on Saturday as they mustered only 20 shots, none of which got past netminder Francis Boisvert. The Terriers will return to action tonight with a stiff test ahead of them. They'll face off with the host Brooks Bandits.

The Bandits opened their tournament with a 7-3 victory over the Oakville Blades last night. Luke Bast led the way with a pair of goals as the Bandits looked dominant from start to finish. Dominance has been the name of the game for Brooks this season, finishing with a 57-3 record to lead the AJHL. They then cruised through the AJHL playoffs before running into a road block in the Prince George Spruce Kings. The BCHL champions took the Doyle Cup over Brooks in six games and the Bandits are anxious to get back to their winning ways.

The Bandits roster is littered with college commitments, 18 in total and is notable for the amount of out-of-province players featured on a nightly basis. In total, 20 players on the Bandits are from outside Alberta, including nine players from Ontario, two from British Columbia, one from Manitoba, two from Quebec and six from the United States.

For the Terriers, the task is simple. Get more shots on goal, generate some offence and get the powerplay working. The team struggled on the man advantage in game one, going 0 for 5 and picked up just 20 shots on goal for the game.

The game will also feature a comeback of sorts for a pair of Terriers. Orca and Ocean Wiesblatt previously spent time with the Bandits, playing a combined 96 games in Brooks.

Puck drop is set for 8:00 pm Manitoba time and you can catch every second of action on 920 AM, CFRY, starting with the Hi-Tec Industries Pre-Game Show at 7:50 pm.
