The Portage Collegiate Trojans picked up their third win of the season last night over the St. James Jimmies. PCI is now 3-4 this season after a 83-69 victory on their home court last night.

The Trojans trailed 17-20 after the first quarter, but they outscored their opponent by 17 points over the next 30 minutes of action.

"Coming into the game, we had three goals," says head coach Darin Arnold. "We wanted intensity and to play with effort because we struggled with that on Monday. Run our offence like we want to and make sure we're rebounding. Other than the first five minutes of the game, we did that the rest of the way. That was good to see from the boys."

PCI now has just two more games before the playoffs begin. Arnold talks about what they'll have to do in those two to make sure they're playing their best at the right time.

"Again, intensity. These guys can be a really good team, and we can beat some good teams if we play as hard as we can for 40 minutes," Arnold explains. "Sometimes they get lazy and don't do that. That's when we lose to teams we could beat. Coming down to the end of the season, that's going to be the number one goal. Play with intensity for 40 minutes."

The Trojans are currently in sixth place in the standings with the opportunity to move to fifth with victories in their last two outings. PCI will be on the road for their next game on February 15 against the St. John's Tigers.
