Nine teams from across the province battled it out in Portage this weekend for U11 hockey supremacy. Stride Place was buzzing with activity all weekend long and several hundred fans and parents were in the stands for the opening ceremonies on Friday night. Even through Stride Place has been open for more than 10 years, many were there for the first time and some were commenting how beautiful the facility is.

When it was all said and done, Niverville lifted the banner beating Winkler 7-2 in the final game. The Manitoba champions had a tough game to even make the final as they squeezed by Morden 2-1 in the semi-final.

The Portage Terriers started the event off on the right foot with a 5-3 win over Lorette. That would be their only win though as they later fell 4-2 to Thompson and then were eliminated by the eventual champions from Niverville 5-2. Kaisen Kirchner was Portage's top scorer with 3 goals and 2 assists.
