The U14A Portage Thunder Ringette team wrapped up a season to remember last weekend when they attended the Western Cup Tournament in Saskatchewan and came home with a silver medal.

After round robin play, the Thunder had compiled a record good enough for third place which meant they would play in the semi-final. They matched up against the Calgary Badditude which they defeated 6-4. In the finals, they faced off with the Regina Roar. With just over a minute left in overtime, Regina was able to notch the winner to claim gold by a score of 4-3.

The tournament caps a wildly successful year that saw the team go undefeated in league play and capture first place in the Winnipeg Ringette League. They also managed to take home a silver in the provincial tournament. Add to those this silver medal and it's easy to see why the team might need a bigger trophy case next year.
