We've experienced colder than average temperatures around the region in February.

Things are about to warm up this week and Environment Canada Meteorologist John Cragg tells us why.

"The atmosphere has changed a little bit, and the pattern is more of a pacific flow." He adds, "Air that comes from the pacific over the mountains and into the prairies is quite a bit warmer."

The average temperature in the month of February for our region is about -13 C but we've seen an average of -16 C this year.

With the warmer temperatures this week, we can expect some snowfall into the weekend, as well as some trailing colder temperatures.
