The Warren Wildcats Varsity girls volleyball team took home bronze medals in the AA Provincials last weekend.

Setter Paige Wright was named a tournament All-Star and received the 'Player's Choice' award. This award was voted on by the team captains of all the teams that made the tournament. Wright described how it felt to be recognized.

"It was super exciting," says Wright. "Just knowing that other players my age noticed (my talent) and it's not just the coaches or people you know."

Despite not reaching their end goal of a championship, Wright says the Wildcats season as a whole was still very impressive. She adds they played to the best of their ability every time they stepped on the court and notes every team at the tournament was good enough to come out on top.

Wright still has one more year of volleyball with the Wildcats left as she is in grade 11. She talks about what the team will look like next year.

"It'll be the same team we had last year when I played Junior Varsity," says Wright. "I think everyone's game has gotten better, so we should be a strong team."

Wright looks forward to next season and hopes they can finish with an even better result than this year.
