The 2021 Western Regional Women's U18 Championship is coming to Stride Place in the very near future. Hockey Manitoba, Hockey Saskatchewan, Hockey Alberta, and BC Hockey are coming together to help the best young female hockey players in those areas compete against one another.

From November 1-6 here in Portage la Prairie, these four provinces will faceoff in a round-robin-style tournament culminating in a gold medal game to crown a winner. Following the cancellation of the 2021 National Women's U18 Championship, the organizations wanted to put something together for the top-level talent to play against each other and decided this would be the best course of action.

Hockey Canada says the goal for this event is to provide an elite-level development opportunity for the players elected to the four teams. The tournament will see a three-game round-robin followed by two semi-final matchups and then will end off with a bronze and gold medal game.

Fans in the area will be allowed to attend given they can provide proof of vaccination and will be charged admission at the facility. The games will begin on November 1 with all of them taking place at Stride Place.
