Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) has followed up on requests to provide claim checks for registered vehicle owners, and the new system is now up and running.

MPI Chief Operations Officer Marnie Kacher says it's one the most-requested option from callers.

"In 2023, we got a customer survey and data showed us that Manitobans wanted to access information about the status of their claim online, when and where it works for them," says Kacher. "We prioritized that and we're delivering this new online option to ensure that Manitobans get that information faster and more conveniently."

She explains registered owners can use the new Check My Claim service to access the most up-to-date status of their existing physical damage claims on their personal vehicles.

"Check My Claim is available in English and French at checkmyclaim.mpi.mb.ca," continues Kacher. "To access the service, the registered owner enters the claim number, the document number (which is located on the front of their driver's license), and the e-mail address that they provided to MPI when they reported the claim."

Kacher adds Check My Claim will then provide claim information including progress update, a summary of your insurance coverage, liability percentage, your adjuster contact information, and details of any upcoming appointments you might have at MPI locations.

"So, it's a new service," adds Kacher. "It supplements the important work our adjusting teams do, and it's an additional channel for customers to check the status of their claims. It's for personal vehicle claims that are made after May 5th, 2023."

The service is currently in effect at this website: checkmyclaim.mpi.mb.ca.
