The Central Plains Capitals need a win tonight to extend their Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League best-of-five series with Yellowhead. They're down 2-0 after losing both games one and two last week.

The Caps lost 5-4 Friday night and 3-2 Sunday afternoon. Head coach Brad Gnidziejko knew it would be a very close series.

"That's how we've played them the whole season. We split with them winning one in their barn and one in ours, they did the same. I expect tonight's game to be just as close as the others."

Gnidziejko feels they've been strong in their last two losses, they just need a little more traffic in front of the net.

"We didn't get enough shots toward the net with traffic in front of the goalie. There will be a lot of anxiety tonight from both teams, and maybe we saw some of that last game with our boys hanging onto the puck just a little too long. We need to play desperate tonight because it could very well be our last game of the year."

"I wouldn't want to be Yellowhead tonight," adds Gnidziejko. "I'd be nervous with us coming into their barn, and that's how we need them to be."

Tonight's game starts at 7:30 in Shoal Lake.
