Portage Collegiate Institute's (PCI) sending 14 athletes to this year's 'MILK' High School Provincial Track-and-Field Championships. The competition takes place over the next three days with events starting this afternoon in Winnipeg.

The school is sending three Grade 9's, four Grade 10's, two Grade 11's and four Grade 12's. Head coach Darin Arnold says the team's got a good shot at bringing home some medals.

"Some of them are up there in the top three seeds going in so if they run like some of them have been all year then we should get some medals. If they can have a real good performance maybe we can bring home a few."

Athletes Erin Owens (Gr. 9) and Simone Crevier (Gr. 10) are both set to compete at the event.

"I'm excited because it's my first time to provincials," says Owens. "Simone and I go for runs quite often, and we have track practice three days a week. So when I can make it to those I do.

Crevier is a long distance runner. She plans to give it her all in hopes of returning with a medal.

The first event gets going at 12:15 p.m. in Winnipeg. Get a full list of all the PCI athletes attending below.
