With training camp approaching the Portage Terriers added size to their roster, acquiring two 20 year old players from the Melfort Mustangs for future considerations.

The Terriers have added 6'1" Alaskan forward Howard Yawit who had 7 points in 39 games last season, and Ashton Clark (6'2", 174lbs) from Aberdeen Saskatchewan who registered 8 pts and 156 penalty minutes in 39 games.

The Terriers saw both players at the Western Canada Cup this past season in Estevan. Assistant coach Paul Harland describes what Yawit will bring to the club. "He's physical and he works hard. I think he will bring some toughness and aggressiveness to our team."

He says Clark adds a few different dimensions to the team. "He drove some our guys a little bit crazy last year when we played them. He's got some skill; I think he can be a good contributor offensively."

The Terriers start the pre season on September 6th.
