The Portage Terriers look to take a 2-1 lead over Steinbach in their Manitoba Junior Hockey League Semi-final best-of-seven playoff series.

The Dogs won an exciting game over the Pistons Sunday evening when they held out for the 4-3 triple-overtime victory in Game 2.

"That was a marathon of a game and I think most of the guys were pretty worn out from it," says Terrier forward Ty Enns when asked about the importance of rest in a series.

"I think the key to game 3 is going to be being physical right from the start and getting on their D-men," adds Enns. "They've been shortening their bench so if we roll four lines, and take the body a lot, we can wear them down and get the win."

The Terriers penalty kill really came to life in Game 2, after allowing three powerplay goals in Game 1 in Steinbach. The Terriers are 1-for-6 through two games with the extra-attacker. Mackenzie Dwyer picked up an assist on Ty Barnstable's powerplay goal in Game 1 and has three points in two games against the Pistons. He was named the Recycle Everywhere Player of the Week for his play last week.

"It's always a little easier when everyone is going in the playoffs," says Dwyer. "I've been coming into games more focused and I'm just trying to do what I can to help guys win games."

Dwyer adds they don't like to think momentum can be carried over from game to game.

"The guys have a good attitude in the room right now which can help us a lot going into the game tonight."

The puck drops tonight at 7:30 in Steinbach. If you can't make it you can hear the game on CFRY and at Portage Online with the pre-game show starting at 7:20.
