The RCMP seeks assistance in locating two individuals believed to be in the Portage la Prairie area wanted on unrelated charges.

Police say 22-year-old Brandon James Smoke of Long Plain First Nation and 30-year-old Heather Adelle Richard are at large on warrants for arrest.

“Both are from the Portage la Prairie area. We do believe they're travelling between Long Plain First Nation and the city of Portage,” says RCMP Const. Sean O'Keefe. “We're asking anyone within the community and surrounding area to let us know if they see either of them at large. Please do not approach them, contact the RCMP as soon as possible.”

Smoke is presently charged with assault with a weapon. Police describe him as an indigenous male with a slender build, standing 5-foot-10 tall, and weighing about 150 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair, and a large scar over his right eye.

Richard is before the courts on 15 criminal charges, including failing to comply with court imposed conditions, failing to comply with a probation order, and assault causing bodily harm. She is described as an indigenous female with a medium build, standing 5-foot-2 tall, and weight approximately 150 pounds. Richard has brown eyes and black hair, with a tattoo of a rose on her back.
