The Manitoba Assessment Services Branch had some good news for the Rural Municipality of St. Laurent.

Property assessments were completed recently and Reeve Cheryl Smith says they made a presentation to council and delivered some good news.

"They approach all the different municipalities and give them a briefing on what their assessment is looking like in our area. We're pleased to hear the assessment is almost back to where it was pre-flood. That means the community and the municipality as a whole have bounced back and people have been building and investing in the community again."

Smith says people are looking after their homes and property, and it's really good to hear they're almost back to pre-flood numbers.
