Update 4:

More details are coming to light, following the armed standoff incident in Portage la Prairie.

The RCMP tell us it began around 11:30 last night, when a report came in about a suspicious man and a white car in a driveway on Oak Bay, in the city's northeast corner.

When the police arrived, they found a man inside the house had a firearm, and called in the Emergency Response Team, as well as police dog services, and negotiators.

The police found four people in the house, and tried to get in, but the doors were barricaded.

After no one came out when the police ordered them to do so, tear gas was sent into the building. A 25 year old woman, and a 16 year old girl, came out, but two men remained inside.

The police went into the house, and arrested the pair. Both are 27 years old.

All four people in the house suffered minor injuries, and one was taken to hospital. He's since been released.

The two men are still custody, but the two females have been released, and are being treated as witnesses, or victims. So far, no charges have been laid.

The police say the vehicle involved in the incident was stolen from the same home on July 15th, adding a car matching its description was involved in a gas station robbery on the Trans Canada Highway yesterday.

The investigation's ongoing.
