Some residents around the community of Langruth are resorting to outhouses as the Municipality of Westlake-Gladstone cuts bulk water off from the Langruth treatment plant. That's what one resident reported. Mayor David Single provides the reasons.

"The reservoir in Langruth is only so big," he explains. "Because so many people have been hauling water, and probably mostly for spraying, the reservoir is getting down a little bit."

Single says no bulk water will be available for a couple of days so the reservoir can return to acceptable levels, and then it will be reopened. People in town still have water, and the closure took place so the town supply won't dwindle as well.

A sign has been posted the at treatment plant informing customers of the water shortage, noting the pump has been shut off.
