Between March 18th and 24th, the Portage la Prairie RCMP responded to 285 calls for service.

On March 22nd, the RCMP received numerous calls regarding an assault in progress on Royal Road South.

Upon arrival, officers found a teenage male from Long Plain First Nation assaulting two women. The male suspect assaulted one of the two women with a weapon -- she was then taken to the local health centre. 

The male was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon and Assault Causing Bodily Harm. He was remanded into custody. 

On March 24th, police were called to a break and enter in progress on Oak Bay.

Once there, officers heard two voices coming from the home. The officers proceeded to identify themselves and asked the suspects to exit the property. The two females complied. 

One female in her twenties from Portage la Prairie was charged with break and entering. The other female in her twenties was charged with break and entering, possession of meth and failing to comply with conditions of a court order. Both were remanded into custody.
