Selkirk-Interlake Member of Parliament James Bezan is right in the middle of a historic weekend in Ukraine. He's leading a delegation, who are observing this Sunday's election proceedings.

Bezan says his group is made up of representatives from five different nations, including Canada, Sweden, Liechtenstein, the Netherlands and Denmark.

He adds they will be in the north east portion of the nation, monitoring the polls.

"We'll be making sure that the polls are operated fairly and under international standard." says Bezan.

Bezan hopes to see a high voter turnout throughout the country on Sunday. he says so far, they're not seeing the same type of violence or intimidation that occurred in previous elections.
