The Portage Regional Recreation Authority has finished their Delta Beach Campground Seasonal Lottery process this week.

PRRA General Manager David Sattler says everyone's feverishly awaiting the spring melt so they can check out the lots.

"We're waiting for the snow to leave to see how everything progressed over winter," says Sattler. "I know there was grass planted in the fall... we want to do some tree planting. You never know what the lake level's going to be, right now it looks like it'll be good. How the beach whethered the winter... there's still final touches that need to be done, washroom stuff needs to be completed before we can open."

Sattler says everyone who entered the lottery ended up with a spot.

"Everyone that applied was awarded a site," Sattler says. "In total it looks like we've set aside 23 seasonal sites for the upcoming year. We do know that not all those will necessarily be filled. As the site selection process happens, some people may no longer be interested, or maybe were looking for a different site specifically. We're really excited now to move on to the site selection process."

Sattler notes he's hoping for a May long weekend opening for the campground, but says it's all dependent on weather.
