The housing market is picking up again in Carman.

Kelly Dyck of Royal Lepage Legacy explains the summer season has seen steady home sales thanks in part to low interest rates.

He notes with less opportunities for families to travel this summer, they've seen more activity in July and August compared to previous years.

Homes in the price range between $190,000 - $250,000 remains in the highest demand, he adds.

Carman has also seen a healthy construction season, he says, with new commercial construction and renovations like Syl's Drive-In.

"With our location right in the middle of Morden and Winkler,Winnipeg, and people travelling to Portage for work... it's helped keep the local market strong and fairly competitive in pricing with larger communities like Morden and Winkler."

Dyck adds they're committed to going above and beyond in terms of following public health guidelines and helping people find and see homes in a safe way.

"There's a lot real estate activity happening," he says. "It's not all doom and gloom."
