People of Portage la Prairie and all across the Central Plains are expected to take in the Manitoba AG EX as it's not too far away -- literally, and figuratively! The event takes place in Brandon in October and the Provincial Exhibition's newest staff member, Macayla Lyons, is looking forward to her first big tradeshow as their new Tradeshow Coordinator.

Originally from Killarney, Lyons joins the Provincial Exhibition at the beginning of August, after years of operating her own small business, which specialized in personalized custom-created items under the banner of Lyons Custom Creations.

"She was a frequent tradeshow exhibitor throughout the area and that experience should help her in the marketing and sales of the Exhibition's annual events," shares Provincial Exhibition General Manager, Mark Humphries.   "That experience should prove beneficial. As a small business owner, you tend to wear a number of hats.... from the creation to the marketing and sales and that should definitely assist Macayla in working with the various exhibitors."

"Macayla came highly recommended," adds Humphries, "and we are quite excited to have her join the team!

The Manitoba AG EX will be returning to the Keystone Centre October 25-28, and this year they will be celebrating a significant milestone, 50 years!  The 4-day event is Manitoba's largest all-breeds cattle show, featuring the province's best of the best cattle and sheep producers.

"The AG EX is one of our key events," explains Humphries, "but this year there will be many qualifiers, finals and sales, that will be involved with this year's show, just because it's the 50th Anniversary."

Lyons says increasing the trade show portion of AG EX is her main focus. "So, having more vendors there, increasing foot traffic and just making it better than last year. The goal is always to improve from the previous year; to make it bigger and better!"

Manitoba AG EX is Manitoba’s largest all-breeds cattle show at Brandon’s Westoba Ag Centre of Excellence. Manitoba AG EX is a four-day event, scheduled to run from October 25 - 28, 2023 and features Exhibitors Night, Partners in Agriculture, The Little Lady Classic, Jr. Cattle Showmanship as well as both the Jackpot Bull and Supreme Breed Extravaganza.
