It's been almost a week since the federal election saw Justin Trudeau's Liberals win a minority government.

For Portage Chamber of Commerce President Guy Moffatt, the result was what they expected.

"As far as positive or negative, we've had the same government in power for the last four years, so it's a little bit more of a continuation," he says. "However, they're going to be a little bit more hard pressed to effect change. So it's going to be interesting from that standpoint."

Moffatt doesn't see the minority government as a bad thing.

"And it could very well just be a transition period as far as the federal government goes," he says. "So from the Chamber perspective, we're holding the course. There are some changes there, and I think there are going to be some more to come in the fairly near future."
