Reeve Toby Trimble says there's concern on RM Council over the proposed route.

It's become a hot button issue for farmers across South Central Manitoba, and the proposed Bipole III Transmission line now has the RM of Portage Council concerned. That according to Reeve Toby Trimble who says they are in the process of setting up a meeting with Manitoba Hydro to discuss the line's potential impact on local agriculture.

Council received their first delegation of farmers to raise concerns formally at this week's meeting. Trimble notes the issues they raised echo with farmers across the RM. Among the concerns include health, obstruction to necessary farming practices, and cost of the line down the West side of the province.

Other municipalities have begun to express concerns, namely Carman and Dufferin. Overall, Trimble feels the issues are legitimate.
