Over 1,000 high schools in Canada have already implemented the Advanced Coronary Treatment program into their curriculum. The program requires schools to teach CPR training in the phys.ed/health curriculum to students.
Sandra Clarke, Executive Director of the A.C.T foundation says another part of the foundation is to ensure that the community gets involved and helps donate mannequins to the high schools for training.
Clarke adds it's not only important for young people to learn CPR, but everyone.
She says you never know when an emergency will strike where your assistance may be required.
