Looking for some things to do with the kids this weekend? Would like to treat yourself? Take a look at these fun and super easy Easter activities! 

 

 

1) DIY Rice Krispie Nests

Ingredients Needed:

3 tbsp. butter
1 10 oz bag of marshmallows
6 cups of  rice krispies
Edible Grass / or green dyed coconut
Jellybean egg or mini egg candies

 

Melt the butter over medium heat and stir in the marshmallows. (if you'd like different colors in your rice krispies, melt peeps!)

Continue stirring until completely melted. Pour the mixture over the cereal and stir until well combined.

Spray a muffin tin with cooking spray and shape the nests. You can also spray a spoon and use it to help make the indents. You could do this by hand but it would be quite messy!

To fill: Let the rice krispies cool in the pan, pull them out, and decorate! Break up the edible Easter grass, placed it in the nest and filled the nest with the eggs. Ta-dah! You're done :D 

(You can also take little paper ketchup containers, wrap them in twine, and use them as easter basket for your treats!)

 

 

2) DIY Easter Stamps


ed:
Water balloons or smaller balloons
A bowl or applicator for liquid glue
Liquid glue/starch/mod podge or paste (instructions below)
Yarn in pastel colors. (3 yards per egg or mix and match your colors!)

Paste Instructions (Optional):
1 cup flour
1 cup water
whisk together and get rid of all the chunks. Then slowly add more water until you reach the consistency of glue.

Here's how you make them:

1. Blow up water balloons. Blow them to the size you want your eggs.
2. Add yarn to your glue. Let it soak for about 1 minute.
Some people us a lot of yarn on their eggs, but you don't have to if you like to see through them. If you don’t have enough yarn; no worries! You can soak another piece of yarn and continue on the same balloon.
3. Put Your Yarn On Your Balloon. slowly pull the yarn out of the glue and run it through your fingers to get rid of any access glue. The less glue you have the cleaner your eggs will be. You can let them dry overnight to be sure they harden properly.
These are a tad messy so I suggest when you are finished to put them on a cookie sheet. Putting in the sun speeds the drying process. Don’t forget to roll them over to get the bottom side of the ballon dry.
4. Pop the balloons once your yarn has hardened.

5. Fill in a bowl, string on a wreath, or string on a garland garland, and enjoy!
