Parents are raising concerns with the ingredients involved in the popular DIY slime recipes after numerous reports of headaches, skin irritation and congestion. Borax, according to Dr Denis Fortier of Southern Health, is the culprit.

There are hundreds of slime recipes on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. We tested the most delicious one of all: Starburst Slime. Yep, you can eat it!

You need:

  •  Powdered sugar
  • Cornstarch
  • 1 bag Starburst (separated by colour)

Verdict?

Pinterest fail. I expected slime but instead created a tough piece of starchy taffy. Also, I didn't have powdered sugar and used the microwave to heat up the starburst. That may have been why it failed. My tester also wasn't too impressed.
