Ah, yes, that time of year everybody looks forward to has arrived in Manitoba. We’re not talking about the holiday season but moreso the weather that it brings.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issued an Extreme Cold Warning for Portage and the surrounding areas at 3:33 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6th.
The coldest wind chill values are expected to be between -40 and -45 overnight.
ECCC is forecasting the extreme wind chill values to last into Wednesday morning, as a high-pressure system moves into the southern prairies, causing clear skies and ushering in the cold arctic air.
