A 29-year-old Portage man faces numerous charges following the report of an intoxicated person last week.

According to police, on March 8, just prior to 10 a.m., Portage RCMP received a report of an intoxicated male at an address in the 100 block of Saskatchewan Avenue West. Police say when officers arrived, they located the man, who was breaching a probation order, and placed under arrest. During the search of the man, several items believed to be stolen were located. He faces charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, several counts of possession of property obtained by crime, and failing to comply with a release order. He was released to appear in court at a later date.
