It was late April when Canadian country singer Jason McCoy stopped by our community so we took the opportunity to show him around and have lunch at Boston Pizza with a couple of lucky listeners.

McCoy and his band The Roadhammers will be the headliners at this year's Potato Festival on August 9th and 10th. The singer will also host Dauphin Countryfest for the third time at the end of June. CFRY and Country 93 are giving you loads of opportunities to win weekend passes to this year's event plus you can try to win by entering the Country Cup today!

"I can't wait" commented the popular entertainer. "The city looks awesome and I've never performed here before."

The Potato Festival and Countryfest are two of the many fairs and festivals we plan to visit again this summer. Maggie Van Damme is the new Celebrate Summer host and we are raring to go with something we call "Project Patio." Details are coming soon but we can tell you that you could win a package with a new patio set, gazebo, BBQ, fire pit, and deck box from Rona, Portage worth over $5000. Along the way, we will have other prizes like a hot tub from Canadian Tire, a $1000 meat pack from Prairie Abattoir, and gift cards from places like Shewfelt's Plumbing and Heating, What's the Scoop, Portage GR8 Wash and Our Farm Greenhouse. Plus we'll have loads of Blue Moon Water to hand out along the way. The Bull Bash, on June 1st in MacGregor, is one of the first events we plan to attend.

McCoy's tour of Portage included a stop at Portage Collegiate where he had a chance to speak with the Mckenna Sharpe at PCI Channel 1. Listen in as they will be invading our studios in early June.
