Long Plain First Nation was the scene of a residential fire March 23.

"At approximately 2 a.m., members were called to a residential fire," says Manitoba First Nation Police Service Inspector Dave Scott. "The fire seemed to be contained in an upstairs bedroom when all occupants had evacuated the home."

He notes the Long Plain Fire Department attended and learned that the fire was caused by a pile of clothes that had been set on the heater which ignited the fire.

Scott adds there was no one injured at that location, and everyone was safe.
