A man who was on Manitoba's Most Wanted list was captured by police early Friday afternoon.

Manitoba First Nations Police Service tried to pull over a white SUV on the Sandy Bay First nation around 2 p.m. Once the lights and sirens were activated, the SUV started speeding.

The chase continued for over 30 minutes before the SUV stopped in field west of Sandy Bay. A woman jumped out of the vehicle and was quickly arrested. The other suspect ran into the bush and after ten minutes he was caught.

29-year-old Edward (BJ) Sutherland of Sandy Bay First Nation was wanted by MFNPS and the RCMP on several outstanding warrants and was arrested and taken into custody. Further charges are pending.

The woman was also arrested and charges are pending.
