The United Commercial Travelers (UCT) continued its safety-themed poster contest yesterday in the life skills classroom at Portage Collegiate Institute.

Dennis Zwarich is the UCT President, and he explains eleven students at PCI participated, three moved onto regional's, and one, Paige Skatfeld, moved onto the international level.

Skatfeld explains her poster is all about Internet safety.

"You should never show your phone number or your password to anyone you don't know on the Internet," says Skatfeld. "It keeps your stuff safe."

Skatfeld notes this is her second time participating, and she did a poster on kitchen safety last year. She says it was a lot of fun.

"It's exciting," says Skatfeld. "Next time somebody else does it, I hope they win."

Her poster on Internet safety is now on route to New Orleans to be judged at the UCT annual convention.

Second place in the poster competition went to Codents Longclaws, and third, went to Ben Greenslade. Each participant was given award money!

Dennis shares, it's days like yesterday that motivate him to continue to do the community work that UCT fundamentally stands for.

"It's good to see these kids," says Zwarich.
