Remembrance Day annually honours those who have given their lives for our freedom, and what has become a popular item has been added this year to the commemoration. The Legion is selling facemasks, with a likeable design.

Local Legion Branch 65 President Bob Oldford explains.

"We had masks," says Oldford. "We've been sold right out, but we have an order coming in sometime, hopefully, next week. We've ordered about four batches of them. This is now the 5th batch. We're bringing in a lot more than usual. We had to order a batch of 100 and then we've ordered more on top of that. So, we do have poppy masks."

He notes they're $10 each, and says they're completely machine washable. They're hoping to have them available on November 2 at the Legion location.

He says their usual poppies are due to come out tomorrow.

"Well, of course, this Friday is when poppies go out and look in your local stores, they will be there," adds Oldford. "We won't be able to set up booths and sell poppies like we have in the past, but they will be available at many of the stores here in town who have sold them in the past, and will continue to probably support the Poppy campaign as well."
