The Portage la Prairie Regional Library will be holding a contest that lets you redesign its library cards.

The library will be allowing everyone to partake, and it will be split into three different age groups for prizing, these being ages 12 and under, 13 to 17, and 18 and over. Program Coordinator Allissa Cannon says that you don't actually need to have a library card to participate in the contest.

"We've been using our current cards for 20 plus years, so we're ready to update them," says Cannon. "And we thought that the card contest would be a good way to connect with the community and get them involved."

The prizes for the three winners have yet to be announced, but Cannon says there will be an announcement on social media when the prizes are confirmed. Cannon also says that you don't have to just submit what you think would be your best design.

"You can put in as many entries as you want," explains Cannon. "So if you have a bunch of different ideas, submit them all."

The contest will run until June 30, and the winners will be announced on July 28.
