MR MIKES Steakhouse Casual had its first-ever Mr. Mike's Day a week ago. General manager  Ashley Barrett says it's all about giving back to the community, noting they partnered with the Breakfast Club, within the Portage la Prairie school division, which gives breakfast to school kids.

"It's just so important that kids start the day off with a good meal," says Barrett. "It really helps them to get the most out of their day. You can enjoy a meal today (Friday, October 20) and add a donation to your bill, and you can do it in one dollar, five, ten, 20 or whatever you feel like you'd like to give."

The event took place across Canada and each local restaurant had different charities they were donating the funds to.

Barrett notes they also drew a name for one of the $500.00 gift cards that they made available.
