The city's main road has been receiving quite the makeover as construction continues along Saskatchewan Avenue West.

The city released an update on July 28th saying closures should be staying the same for the time being. The city is continuing to work on the reconstruction phase which consists of placing and packing gravel, prepping for paving, and installing a new land drainage system.

The new sidewalk and pathway are continuing to progress at a good pace with the city claiming, "The transformation to the new roadway will be significant."

Moving forward, traffic will need to shift from the south side to the north side. The city hopes to keep any closures due to this as short as possible, so businesses and residences stay accessible. The switch is expected to take place at the end of August.
