Angie Shindle is getting settled into her new role as General Manager of the Portage Regional Recreation Authority.

She stepped into the position last month, after taking over for David Sattler.

Looking forward, she says there is a lot to prepare for.

"Basically, each season is kind of like a new beginning when you're talking about recreation and Stride Place," says Shindle. "For sure, the big events in 2020 that are happening, with the curling and with the National Junior A Hockey Championship, are our major focus for long-term."

She says they are also have some short-term focuses.

"Right now, we're just working on keeping Delta flowing for the campground. It's been a really busy start of the season," says Shindle. "[We then want to get] our winter season for the arenas also going. Scheduling, and stuff like that."

Shindle was the PRRA's Recreation Manager before she stepped into this new role.
