The PCI Saints are hosting their annual Saints Classic Fastpitch Tournament this weekend. They began round robin play by blowing out the Virden Golden Bears by a score of 12-0. Next up were the Green Valley Pirates. The score was a little bit closer but still resulted in a dominant 9-4 victory. In the Saints final game of the day, they defeated the Goose Lake Angels by a score of 13-3. Coach Cam Asham talked about his team's play.

"We're pithcing well, we're hitting well and we're plaing good defense," says Asham. "Things are going well right now and we hope to continue that tomorrow."

"Definitely there's always something," notes Asham. "Every part of our game we can work on. We can always be better offensively, defensively. We've been pretty solid so far but there's always room for improvement."

While they started the tournament strong, Asham says they continue to focus on their play, not on who they are facing.

"We always try to think about controlling what we can do as a team," says Asham. "Not necessarily looking at who we are playing just looking at our own level of play and keeping it where we want it to be."

The next action for the Saints goes tomorrow at 11:30am at Republic Park.
