The Portage and District Chamber of Commerce has been provided an update from the crews working on fixing up Saskatchewan Avenue.

According to the update, Phase 1, from 4th Street to 7th Street, will almost be finished by the end of this week. Two curb lanes will be paved today, so expect some closures at 4th, Strathcona, and 7th, which will last 1 to 2 hours, as they pave through the intersections.

Phase 2 is ongoing as crews continue with the excavation extending beyond 17th, which will result in the intersection at 17th being closed. All other closures will stay the same.

If you wish to see what the new roadway will look like, you can see the north curb and gutter from 7th Street to 12 Street as it was completed last Friday. The update wraps up saying they'll move ahead with granular and concrete, heading west.
